I'm going to be passing through Reno on my way to Burning Man at the end of August. Any stores I should check out for Nikon gear? I'm looking for a macro lens and maybe the 70-300mm.

As with most things, your best prices come from online shops. Some of them, like B&H, have B&M stores, but none in the Nevada area that I know of. You'll probably be stuck with the likes of Ritz/Wolf, CircuitCity, and BestBuy. None of which will typically compare favorably to online vendors or even Amazon, which is a good source for photo gear too.
