|
|
Hullo folks! I desperately need some help here, here's the long boring explanation:
I need a laptop for school, starting 3 years of uni in about 2 weeks (actually, already taking a summer course). The requirements for my uni are as follows:
- windows XP professional or vista professional
- i need to also get microsoft office 2007 professional
- i would love to have an antivirus, plus a spelling and grammar program fro english, french and spanish
To note that i would need a very good battery life and in general a laptop that would be viable for the full 3 years - thus being able to stand any updates in the future.
All other things are extras....but i have NO laptop knowledge so i cannot choose the best one. Heard toshibas are pretty good, but any advice is more than welcome.
Thanks! |

| I would highly recommend a toshiba, i'm still using mine from freshman year of college. But they tend to be a bit more money. |

| If cost is a concern, but a laptop from www.delloutlet.com - if cost isn't a concern, buy a Lenovo, and see if your uni has a deal with Lenovo that offers a price break. |

Wow. Your uni requires a Windows OS and office? I would install Linux just to be an ass |

well they do offer 2 models: a toshiba and a lenovo, but the toshiba without extras is 1059$ and the lenovo they have is 1699$. I was looking for something lower, i'll check the website
i would really like a toshiba i think, i just need to know, what frequency is it better to get, what hard drive - what do all the specifics Really mean in everyday use? very confusing.
thanks for the help! |
