Some bands I've recently gotten the fuck into:
Headlights
Atmosphere
The Ting Tings
Mates Of State
Neon Neon
The Cool Kids
Bonnie "Prince" Billy
Scarlett Johansson
Be Your Own Pet
Santogold
Los Campesinos!
Beach House
Holy Fuck
Sage Francis

I really like those I put in bold. Scarlett's Tom Waits album left me indifferent, I haven't checked out the others much if at all.

@all The Verve fans: have you heard "Love is PainNoise" new single as of Monday?
Love is pain, but the single is actually titled "Love is Noise"
It's not bad. I like it. Pre-ordered the new album too. |

The Mars Volta are now my favorite band of all time. I've been on a binge for the past couple months. Yes, they are sometimes hard to get into, but holy shit is it worth it. My opinion of albums:
Amputechture > Frances the Mute > The Bedlam in Goliath > De-Loused in the Comatorium
Although Amputechture and Frances the Mute are very close.
Ouroboros is my favorite TMV song. Cassandra Gemini is just epic. |

Astronautalis - Pomegranate
http://rapidshare.com/files/140163147/AstroP_Vic.zip
"With two full-lengths under his belt, Astronautalis has been busy crafting his careful balance between hip-hop, country, and American indie rock. Hand picking members from The Polyphonic Spree, Midlake, and The Paperchase, he composed this indescribably diverse album under the guidance of Grammy nominated producer and engineer John Congleton (Explosions In The Sky, The Polyphonic Spree, Modest Mouse). Pomegranate plays out like a collection of short stories, each song as varied in style and sound as they are in subject and character. Astronautalis's pop sensibility manages to weave catchy melodic strains that'll haunt you for days."

| Tool fans! (yes you J4 and Trav) Check out Rishloo RIGHT NOW. I'm getting addicted to them. The singer sounds a lot like Maynard. Their music is awesome. Listen to Terras Fames, then Eidolon. |

You people need to get into dredg! Went to their show last night. Amazing. Even you kooky indie kids should check them out. Start out with El Cielo. Luckily Last.fm has the full tracks:

I feel so left out of this thread... most of the bands mentioned on this page alone I've never even heard of
So, I'll throw you guys a curve ball. Give this a listen. Pretty funny. (I've actually grown to like these guys and even bought the CD. Their story's rather interesting. It's another one of those bands that developed a fanbase on MySpace/YouTube and got picked up by a record label. They were just a couple of guys with MacBook Pros and some recording hardware.) |

Just recently got a few albums which I really like:
Boxer by The National
Give Up by The Postal Service
Charmed & Strange by Yoav
I also picked up the new Metallica album. Finally they quit producing country music and went back to the good stuff. |
