| I do most of my trading on my desktop, but evey now and then I want to watch TV, chill down stairs and work on my laptop. Is that going to cause a problem if they are on the same router? |

^^^ as he said, the IP is the same.
Regardless, if you're just talking about trading on FiPG, we don't have any IP rules, other than we ask you not to hide behind a proxy when you login here.
You only need be concerned about IP's if you're joining sites and completing offers (and in a few cases, checking status) from different IP's. But all PC's behind your router will come from the same IP, so no worries there. Which BTW is why you don't allow anyone else to sign up or complete offers from your network. |

| My laptop has been out for repair, and Ive been using my Fiancee's laptop on the guest account. I got mine back today, and compared IP addresses, and we are one digit apart, is this a problem since Im the only one who does trades? |

For clarification, you are most likely talking about an internal, private DHCP address. These are normally assigned in sequence and typically would be one digit apart in a two PC household. Private IP's fall into one of the following ranges:
10.x.x.x
192.168.x.x
172.16.x.x - 172.31.x.x.
Private IP's don't matter, it's the public IP that counts. If you have an ordinary residential ISP account and are going through a router, you will both share the same public IP address.
On each computer, go to http://www.whatismyip.com and I bet you both see the same address. If so, then both PC's would be signing up and completing offers from the same IP -- which is fine as long as there is only a single account on each site. If each PC signed up for the same sites, however, that would be considered fraud. |
