|
|
After emailing freeipods.com, they sent me an automated response saying I could switch to an HP iPod. My current status for a silver iPod mini is "Sent to vendor, waiting on product" since 8/31. Here is what they wrote:
Thanks for writing about your order status. Apple is currently back ordered on iPods. We are doing everything we can to get your order out the door, and shipments are expected over the next few weeks. We ship out orders on a first-come first-serve basis, and will ship out your order once we get inventory in. You will get your iPod, it just might be delayed until Apple can catch up with the huge demand and manufacture more. Please note that we are now offering the HP iPod, which will ship much faster than the Apple. Please go to your order history under the "My Account" section of our website and click on your order. You will see an option to switch to the HP iPod. Hp's is exactly the same, and is usually available to ship right away. Thanks for writing and please be patient while we work on getting orders out the door. -FreeiPods.com

Now, I followed the instructions, but then I go to order the HP iPod and it says that I "...have not met the requirements to get a free iPod." This must have to do w/me already having ordered a mini. Does anyone know how to properly change an order? |

| It probably does have something to do with the fact that you ordered a Mini. |

| hmm...from what i understand if your status is "Sent to vendor, waiting on product" you cannot cancel or change your order, so i guess you're stuck with your mini. |

| Well yeah... But they gave everyone the option to switch to the Hpod since the Ipods were taking so long to ship... |

Yes you can, that was my status and you can click 'Change iPod' in the account page to change to "HP iPod (if available)".
btw, I am getting that same error but going to the account page, it shows product as "HP iPod (if available)" so I think we are okay. I also can't contact Gratis because from the FAQ page, if I try to send something it says "Please select an order" |

This is my "My Account" screen:
This is what appears after I click "View Order History"
This is what appears after I click on my order #:
This is what appears after I click on my order under "Order Details":
...and this is what happens after I click "Go to Next Step":
Any ideas? Am I doing anything wrong? I'm open to suggestions... |

| Same as Neversky, I had that button, clicked it and it said my product is now HP 20GB iPod (if avail), I chose Apple 20GB as my first choice, but if I try to switch to any other iPod right now, it shows what your screenshots show..I am trying it in Firefox though. |
