I'd be happy too, if OC would finally accept 3 of my referrals. I got rejected, 2 got reinstated. So then someone didn't click the "I have completed this offer" button, then got it worked out with OC, but I still haven't been credited. Then, someone else did Appeara and sent in a missing credit form. I'll be spending mine on a 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for my PSP, 2 games, 1GB of RAM for my Mac Mini, and I'll save the rest for my purchase of a PowerBook G5 when they come out.

I hear ya, PodTopia.

I had 19, 4 were rejected. I got 4 more, and then 2 were rejected. I finally got my 18th one, and I was approved on my third try.

I have a 200gb HDD, WinTV PVR-350 (TV tuner card, with tivo-like capabilities), and 1gb of RAM for my Dell coming this week. Woohoo!

As someone who already built a HTPC using their freedesktop Dell (4700) - return the PVR350 and get a PVR500. The 500 has dual tuners which allows you to record two channels, or watch 1 channel and record another at the same time. The PVR500 is cheaper too - at least as www.pcalchemy.com

Also, what video card are you planning to use? Anyway, lots of questions - if you want or need help with the HTPC, AIM me, you have my AIM name.

Actually, I'm just planning on using this in my office, when my wife is watching something I'm not interested in, in the living room. I also plan to do a little playing with the PVR capabilities, recording some shows, and burning them. What software do you use with yours, for recording, and for making DVDs?

I take it the hard drive is a western digital 200gb?

CollidgeGraduit

28-03-2005 07:00:57

Actually I went with a Seagate. I saw that you recommended them, and I've had good experiences with them in the past. 7200 RPM, 8mb cache. Should be nice D

nice, yea they are the best, only one with a 5 year warranty. The only other oddball hard drives that would beat yours in one of the following areas (RPM, Catche) would be the 10k Western Digital Raptor and the Maxtor 16mb buffer ones, but heck silence and relibility is well worth more the speed

Congrats, CG...

One of these days, I'll get the nerve to complete that site. For now, it's not a priority, even though I would love to get an iBook.

Maybe by then, Gratis will have a notebook site.

But nice to have the $1000, too.

Forgive me for being an ignorant noob (who is trying to learn by the way), but how on earth do you guys continue to get such high numbers of referrals to get so much free stuff? Plus free stuff with high referrals, like the $1000?

I'm working on a photo ipod, but having one heck of a time getting referrals. Any suggestions/tips would be greatly appreciated. I'm amazed at you guys and want to learn.

Thanks.

WOOHOO! This week and next week should FINALLY be my big week. For those of you that think I've received a lot of stuff, most of the sites in my sig are done as in WAITING for credit for greens, which can take weeks. I FINALLY finished Notebooks, sent an e-mail to OC telling them that I waited 4 weeks and had 17 referrals already approved. They approved me instantly and my order's placed. Next week should come the $$ from DVRS, PVPs, and maybe a PSP from PSPs.

chillywilly

31-03-2005 14:34:04

Nice, PodTopia. Good to hear. Hoping I don't have to wait 4 weeks to get approved for my PSP from OC.

31-03-2005 14:38:29

Thanks. It's only because I got refs rejected like 5 times.
