No, I won't be eBaying it. I've been wanting a DSLR for some time now, but could never bring myself to lay down the money. I figured this was the only way I'd get one anytime soon.

I tend to prefer Canon, and one choice from this site was an XTi (D400), but between the three cameras offered this Nikon was the better and more expensive model. I'm quite pleased with it so far. I'm thinking I may pick up a 55-200mm VR lens soon.

Congrats! I have a D40 with a 18-135mm lens. You should definitely upgrade the lens. The 18-55mm has a weak zoom.

I would have gotten the 55-200mm, but then I would have to carry my 18-55 for wide angle shots...hence I got the 18-135 which covers wide angle and zoom.

I'm also looking for a lens for my xti, will the same lense fit all cameras? Where can I get cheap, but good lenses? I seen some at best buy for like $700. Sorry for the off topic (someone make a thread about lenses).

I don't think a lens for a Canon will work on a Nikon and vice versa. I know some nikon lenses won't work on all Nikon cameras...for example my Nikon D40 has the motor for the lens in the lens...not in the camera...My uncle has a D200 or a D120 or something and it has the motor in the camera. So if I were to try to put his lens on my camera, I would only be able to use manual focus...not sure if that makes sense

I bought my lens from BHPhotoVideo.com

Yes, of course -- that's what the "D" in DSLR stands for. ;) It's a 10.2 megapixel SLR camera.

No, Nikon lenses don't fit Canon and vice-versa.

Yeah, B&H Photo[=http//www.bhphotovideo.com/]B&H Photo is probably my favorite online camera shop, it's certainly one of the best and most popular. I'll probably buy a 55-200 tele lens from them.

You don't have to spend $700 on a lens unless you're going with real high-end glass, image stabilization, fixed f/stop, etc. A Nikon 55-200mm VR telephoto lens runs around $250 street price. The same lens without VR will be about $190 or so. Of course those are variable f/stop lenses, to get a fixed 2.8f tele with image stabilization you'll spend about $1800.
