My English teacher is retiring this year and is giving away all of her books.

I didn't know this until today, so a lot of stuff is gone, but I came away with about $50 worth of books.

I'm only planning on reading 2 of these books (1984 by George Orwell, and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man by James Joyce), the rest are going to B&N for some store credit, because I want to read the books Running With Scissors and Dry, both by Austen Burroughs.

1984 is great
I enjoy reading. Although the internet sometimes cuts into reading time when the spare time pops up. So sad.
I'm compiling a summer reading list.

I was able to return all but one of the books to B&N for store credit.

I bought "Dry" and "Running With Scissors" and still have $4 leftover.

I like it so far, only about 70 pages into it, though.

I could never sit at a computer and read an entire book.

well 1984 is the obvious classic...everyone has to read that

Portrait of the Artist by Joyce is like my favorite book of all time. GREAT freaking book.

btw, books are always almost free. There are booksales all the time at different libraries where you buy a grocery bag for $5 and fill it with books.
