I have the 60" model. Nice TV, the best picture quality of ANY HDTV on the market today -- including plasma.

Both the 50" and 60" models are 1080p, BTW.

OK, I ment the Sony 60" 1080i then. Circuit City has the TV for like 4300 bucks.

If it's the $4300 model, then that's got to be the 60" SXRD, same as I have, and it's 1080p. The Sony 1080i models are LCD projections, and they look nowhere near as good as the SXRD models (and cost a lot less). There is no difference in specs other than size between the 50" and 60" SXRD's. Both are 1080p.

Huh? If you're referring to the plant on the coffee table, then no it's not a bonsai tree. Some plant my wife picked up. )

Which one, the Qualia 006 or the LCD Grand Wega XBR?

If the latter, I'd take the 60" SXRD over the 70" LCD. Picture quality is so much better on the SXRD vs. the LCD.

If the Qualia 006, then... wow. $11K for a TV is freakin' crazy. shock

Unless he's talking the Qualia 006. (see my post above)

It's the 70" SXRD that does 1080p and is the grandaddy of the consumer-level SXRD's. All $11,000 worth...

Sadly it cannot accept a 1080p signal though.

The OP has the 50" SXRD. If you're referring to my 60", I ordered it from Crtutchfield.

True. There are only a couple of sets on the market today that accept a 1080p input (the HP DLP sets for one), and virtually nothing outputs 1080p currently.

However I challenge you to tell the difference between 1080i de-interlaced to 1080p on the SXRD, and true 1080p. ;) It looks amazing. Better than any 1080i set I've seen, including plasma.
