free iBook received from OfferCentric

The FedEx guy showed up today with my free laptop from notebooks4free!

After almost exactly 1 year since the time I signed up for notebooks4free (and almost decided not to do it because 18 refs seemed impossible), I have my free iBook (1.42 GHz G4 14.1 inch monitor ))

I actually put links up when I first signed up, told some friends, checked weekly for awhile (with no luck). Then checked it after a few months and saw that I had several greens. After a few more months I got close (like 15 or so greens) and I started getting impatient and traded/paid for a few.

2 of the greens turned red after I got to 18 (probably because of some shady trader or something) and I ended up getting the last 2 greens naturally from links (and then got 2 more greens after I was approved and placed my order...I have a feeling the OOD reset back to regular offers after I placed my order).

I loves the freebies.

I debated it for awhile, then figured it'd be fun to play with my first Mac, so I went for it.

That, plus the value of this item is more than the $1050 payment ($1249 at ecost where they bought it). I figured I'd end up if I went for it.

Not sure why they even have the less expensive 12.1" on the site (unless people just want the lighter weight lappy rather than the more expensive 14.1")

I treat it like a all-you-can-eat buffet in Vegas. Get the most expensive stuff so you can feel like your time was well spent ) The 14.1" was the lobster.

You're really tempting me, but I have 6/8 on Bigwin for the Powerbook on there, so I might as well get the cash and spend some of it on more refs for more free stuff and save the rest. And then get my Powerbook. P

i kept my ibook fron IRC. I loved it for about 1 day, then i hated it. Cant play poker, couldnt download any programs, had to use different commands.

you said play with your first mac, and thats what it seemed like to me a toy. It was like baby's first computer. Anyhow luckily my friends GF loves them so I mangaged to trade it to her and i am getting a dell from my friend.

If you dont use macs seriously consider keeping a $1000 laptop that may be of no use to you.

I've been downloading programs just fine with it. I've got some web development programs already setup (nvu, transmit, etc)

It's a pretty powerful machine if you take the time to get used to the Mac way and can leave the windows thinking behind for a second.

I already have a Dell Laptop, but it's way too heavy. I can see me taking the iBook on shorter trips or vaction more often than the Dell.
