well I just got it... its SWEEET, its thinner, and comes in a smaller box, just overall its really great. it comes with a little pouch/case thingy. pretty cool. but it doesn't come with a dock.... cheapasses. I'll post pics tmmrw right now i wanna play with my new ipod! w00t.

You got it from freeipods.com? How are you supposed to charge it then? Do you have to buy a separate charger or what?

You charge it through USB 2.0 with the cord that is provided by Apple in every iPod box.

the only ipods to come with a dock were the 40gb photos. so don't be too sad you didn't get one. they are not really a necessaity, but i still like mine.

Nah, my both my 20's came with docks... I've got 3 docks (?), and I've never bought one independent of the ipod

No, he just went to the store and traded something in for it. No one has yet received an iPod Video from Free Pay.

The new ipods will not fit into an old dock, at least not the one that came w/ my 40GB photo because the new ones are wider... the sound dock, it will probably depend on if it slides into a slot perfect size for your old ipod or just the bottom sits on it and there is no side boarders, if that makes since to you )

I think you need the new universal dock for the video ipod. But at least they got smart now, and just made 1 dock for all ipods.

that would be cool / not that hard cause if you think about it you only need the hole in the bottom and you could have one of those things (like in cell phone holders) that could tighten to keep it in place, the video capabilities would be a probthough

i put my nano in my ipod photo dock. it is a bit off center but it still works and looks better than it dangling from a usb cord on my desk.

No you have to get the converter i forget the site but a simple google search will bring it up for free download.

the video may be awesome now, but i think i will wait until someone comes out with some portable thing which satisfies the following conditions
1. An actual hard drive (i.e. no memory stick crap)
2. Ability to rip movies/shows into the correct format
3. resolution at least 640 by 480.
4. able to play music
5. a hell of a lot of battery life
In other words, take an ipod video and make the resolution at least twice a good (ideally with a bigger screen [4"+] that navigates through touch screen technology) and one and a half times as thick to improve video battery life to at least 6-7 hours (12+ would be awesome).

I just went on ebay and bid for an adapter and a car charger. Do I have to also get a USB cable or no?

I believe USB comes with it, it doesnt come with firewire
