Gateway NX200s laptop received from FDPC *UPDATE: Pics Added

Yep, I wasn't surprised like Junior, I actually had to work to make arrangements and request a reattempt for delivery in the same day @ my permanent address, but I got it! I'm posting this msg from it actually. I will post pics after Fall Break (Everyone I know with a digital camera is gone)

Yes, I'm keeping it! I do love this laptop, it's very quick out of the box, especially for basic tasks like word processing and web browsing. Can't wait until I upgrade the RAM!

yes I'm keeping it, I can't really recall my timeline specifically, but I started on or around the 13th of september, and received it yesterday (the 12th of october) so about a month. Took me around 6 days to get all of my greens, approval took 3 days or so, went STV on the 27th (or so), order placed on the 29th, received from gateway on the 12th. The major delay was on gateway's part as the factories in China that manufacture this laptop model were on holiday until the 10th. All these dates are approximate but they sound about right. Veek, I love teh look of this laptop! I love how the widescreen is emphasized by the compactness of the notebook. Everyone is amazed that I got such a "nice" laptop for free! I love the feel of the keybaord too. Most laptop keyboards are difficult for me to get used to, but I've been tapping away on these keys with no problem. I haven't done much testing with the battery, but it seems to suck so far. I can't give it a real life test run until after fall break though.

It looks like I'm at your house because I'm used to looking at my laptop here. Haha. Glad you're enjoying the laptop. I told ya you wouldn't be disappointed. Good stuff. The laptop doesn't run as slow as I thought it would with 256MB of memory, but upgrating wouldn't be bad at all. D

how is the screen on this lappy,omeone had said screen was bad, it it really dim or something.i was thinking about getting the gateway too, wating on 10th ref togreen.

When I first got it, I thought the screen was dim as well. You have to read the directions to know why. It saves battery power. However, when you connect the AC power, it goes bright again. The way to do this is that you hold down the Fn (all the way bottom left) button and pressing F8. This will make the screen brighter and awesome. Let that person know of that or is the screen still too low?
