Blocks radar gun signals for a short period so you'd have time to slow a bit before they get the real reading of your speed. Guess what I just found out? I don't have a cigarette lighter in my car so I'm fucked!! DAMNTI!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

IDK, it's worth about $200... I might see if theres a way to add a cig lighter to my car so I can use it

You can buy a cigarette lighter to add at radioshack for about 5.00

The easiest wires to tap into (at least for me) were the ones that the car stereo are powered by. Just splice the positive cable from the new cigarette lighter onto it and walla, instant cigarette lighter.

Also I'd like to know what kind of car it is too, I didn't know they made cars without cigarette lighters. Maybe it's just hidden?

these are highly illegal. radar detectors are fine (in most states), but radar scramblers aren't.

It's a simple radar jammer.... it only scrambles it for a few seconds until the gun can get a reading on the car. Thanks Slease for that tip... I will have to check out RadioShack tomorrow and see what I find.

EDIT Oh and I have a 95 Grand Am... I'm sure the previous owner ripped it out when he installed the stereo system.

They should... don't think they would sell a defective product, what exact one are you talking about?

Radar detectors work fine for letting you know when a cop is around, they are great for driving at night. But they can't always keep you from getting a ticket because the cops aren't idiots and they know how to set up effective speed traps. But if you speed it'd definately worth grabbing a sub $100 one, it'll save you at least 1 ticket in its lifetime to pay for it.
