my apple store is being shitty about not having upgrade facilities to add bluetooth and wireless, but my mini actually arrived today.

THE MACS WERE PURCHASED MARCH 1st (had apple guy check the s/n) which means we cannot get tiger upgrade. god damnit. 69$ with student id as stated, or free with the rls of it on the torrent networks (ill let you know how that goes) FYI I got the mini today.
I took it to the mac store....
got bluetooth and wireless for 99 (89 w/ student id and licence)
wireless keyboard + mouse 53 each with student discount
and a wireless remote to control movies etc (infared) 60 bucks

My Mini arrived, too... today. I checked DHL and it showed delivered.
The est. delivery was Thurs 4/28.... 4 days sooner. Gratis and DHL rock!
Pics posted sometime tomorrow (going to a concert tonight - Velvet Revolver .... some things are more important than getting a new computer).

I've never used apple products before. What sort of effects would installing a 'borrowed' version of Tiger have? I know in Windows you can run into S/N issues with service pack updates and was wondering if once oyu have it installed there isn't any other sort of ... problems?

Have no clue about how OS X deals with archival backup copies of the OS install disc.
OS 9.x and OS 8.x were easy to make backup copies for personal use only.

omg, chilly, you're a lucky bastard. mine says est. delivery date is 4/28 too, hope i get it today as well. just checked DHL and it still says departing origin, so i doubt it.

That's my plan. I figure, I got the computer for free and will spend $50 to get a keyboard and mouse. The least I can do is get the upgrade. Plus it won't be out until Friday. I also need to see how it's going to be with Virtual PC 7.... hoping that MS will ensure compatibility before upgrading.
