We need fresh new banners (for sigs) and logos to help promote our site. Therefore we are holding a design contest! The Gift Orb network will select the top 3 banner/logo designs to be entered to the final round. The votes for the finalists will be from any members with TR 4+ from the FiPG or A4F forums.

You can submit as many banners/logos as you want. Both the logos and banners will be in the same contest. There will not be separate contests for each. All submissions may be used on our web sites. If you do not wish your submission to be used, please contact us.

All entrees must be received by March 23rd.

Sorry to be so vague. I am looking for banners that people can put in their sigs for their forum profile. I am also looking for banners that can replace the current ones we're using for the network's sites.

As for logos, I am looking for new ideas to use in the future for redesigning the network's web sites.

There is no preferred color scheme. The size of the banners should be small enough to abide by FiPG's rules of how large a sig can be. Banners for the network's sites should be about the same size as the current ones. I hope this helps!

I'm a beginner PhotoShopper. Tried my hand in it for Egyptianruin's Christmas card contest (A4F) last year. I like these types of contests. I get to work on my PhotoSlopping skills.

Looks like you used dithered transparency instead of alpha transparency.

BTW you have to be careful with using transparent PNG's because IE6 and below do not display alpha transparency properly unless the site adds a javascript DX filter hack to the page code. FF and IE7 don't have the problem. For web transparency work, as long as IE6 and under are still predominant, you might want to stick with transparent GIF's (which don't do alpha, so you have to use a matte background that closely matches your target background to avoid the pixelation you see in your image shadows).

Once you get your transparency happening it should all be good other then that you've done good, love the design, might make a few more today not sure.
