what kind of giftcards?

Are they real giftcards that get actually shipped or are they online giftcards with codes...etc

Some sites send the actual card, others do online gift accounts. I am pretty sure if they say "Gift Card" it is the actual card itself. And Also, I think they give you an option when that time comes.
