I am on a family plan using T-Mobile with an iPhone. My sister has one also. My mom called to change our plan to a My-Faves plan and the lady said "Oh, well one of your phones is an iPhone and I dont know if my-faves will work with it" I don't understand how she could have known that one was an iPhone, besides, she said she was showing we had one when we actually have two. It's not a huge deal I was just wondering if anyone knew about this because I've never heard of them being able to tell.

they can tell, the ESN for cell phones allows them to
every cell phone has a unique ESN number
there were rumors that AT&T was sending out letters to iPhone owners that were not using AT&T service. So I'm sure tmobile can see iPhones on their network as well

Actually, it's an IMEI number.
Only CDMA and old TDMA networks use ESN numbers.
All GSM phones use IMEI's.
