I just need a DVD-ROM drive (preferably black) to throw into my Ubuntu box... I know someone out there has to have one just lying around (dmo!!)

Sorry, I just put my last spare DVD-ROM drive in my wife's desktop.
Define cheap? Burners can be had for under $30, so unless you can find maybe a used DVD-ROM for like $10, I wouldn't recommend buying one. New DVD-ROM's on Newegg cost within about $10 of a burner.
