Experience With RentACoder et al?

Anyone have any experience with sites such as RentACoder?

I'm looking to have a site created and designed and know nothing to do it myself. I'm not made of money and I don't think what I'm looking to have done is too complicated, but I'd like to get some feelers for how much it may cost or how difficult it may be.

I don't mind paying a complete stranger if I know that not only will my money be safe, but so will the site (ie, it'll be secure and there's no fear of the coder leaving holes to get back in etc).

Experience or recommendations?

I'm no expert but I've been 2 out of 2 with RAC. One delayed it forever but it wasn't time sensitive and then the other was pretty good. I would recommend going with someone from the US or CA of course. I don't mean to be prejudice or whatever but it's usually better being in similar time zones and no language barriers. I would also recommend not going with the lowest bid, as they usually aren't going to put forth a lot of effort. I would go with the middle or middle lower bid if you are strapped for cash.

My friend has used it a few times before. He actually posted a project that we are both working on. He hasn't had any problems that I know of.

I can't say just yet until I've decided how it's going to work and if I'm going to do it at all. I don't want to say anything in case someone else steals the idea.
