I've searched for problems pertaining to the specific apps in question but haven't found anything that helps.

I reformatted my computer last night, installed XP Pro SP2 and everything went fine. Today when I began installing all of my apps I ran into some problems.

iTunes won't start and gives me a "The instruction at "0x10001040" referenced memory "0x10001040". The memory could not be read" error. Tried reinstalling several times and nothing (Fixed this by uninstalling Quicktime and installing the standalone Quicktime).

Winamp starts and plays music, but then gives me a C++ Runtime error and will crash when adding music to the media library. It says The instruction at "0x13012695" referenced memory at "0x034a0000". The memory could not be read, followed by "Runtime Error! R6025 pure virtual function call".

I installed a programme called WinXP Manager which I've used without incident for a few years. Now it also won't start up and the error log it generates says

[quote1b3e1f2894]The Frmaework version is not support, please update your framework or restart setup .NETurl==http://=http:///url framework\n\rPlease get a new runtime support to website http//www.maxtocode.com/FrameworkSupport.html\n\rError Code 0x0003[/quote1b3e1f2894]

When I checked my installed version of .NETurl==http://=http:///url Framework, it has 1.1, 1.1 Hotfix, 2.0 SP1 and 3.0 SP1.

Any ideas? (

Could it be a problem with your RAM?

You can try this
http//oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp[]http//oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

There are other tools that test RAM too.

Otherwise have you tested the HD for errors as well?

What you're describing sounds like a possible memory failure. Memtest86+[=http//www.memtest.org]Memtest86+ is pretty much the defacto standard memory tester. Download and burn the bootable CD ISO, let it a run for at least a full pass, preferably overnight.

I ran Memtest overnight and it found 0 errors. (

I guess you should try testing the HD then.

You can try any of these

uninstall first all quicktime players instances from the registery

you need to reinstall the standalone quicktime installer

I had tried the WD tools already and found nothing wrong, so I'm trying the Seagate one now. Thanks for the help though. D

Thanks but I'd already fixed this issue not long after posting.

Also (not directed at you manOFice), since the errors I'm getting are mainly .NETurl==http://=http:///url and Runtime, any ideas on how to fix those? I downloaded the tool from MS to install the latest components for programmes using Visual C++, but I've no idea if that was pointless or not. Obviously didn't fix it so I'm guessing so.
