Hi everyone. I was thinking about getting the Logitech Z-5500s, but it just hit me I live in an apartment!

These apartments are quite old (around 1930's or so), so i'm pretty sure I would get complained about. Would buying a set of speakers (w/o sub) and this

work just as fine?

I'd just stick with the Logitech's. Noise is certainly something to be wary of, you have to be considerate of other people. But you should be able to tweak the output levels to the point they sound good to you but don't bother anybody.

Such is apartment life, if you want to be able to shake the walls you need to get a house. ;)

My friend that lives down the hallway from me at school has those same speakers. He put it on full volume, and it was shaking rooms on the fourth floor. I think he has like ten noise violations, lmao.

I have the older model of those and they're super duper loud. I actually had to upgrade my sound card when I got it.

These kids down the hall BLARE their country music so loud, it drive me crazy. I try to study, and they play that music so fucking loud, and won't turn it down, even if you ask.

They don't get a noise violation? I mean we have "quiet hours" from 11 PM - 8 AM, and during finals, we have them 24/7. But nobody seems to give a shit even during 11PM - 8 AM, because there's people in the hallway banging on doors, playing music, yelling, doing other shit, at like 3 AM. And I try to get sleep, and I can't, and I have a class at 8 AM in the morning.

I have the Z-2300 on one of my desktops and it can POUND....but alas it does have adjustable bass control on the wired remote controller....get some sweet headphones if you need to really turn it up. My Bose around-the-ears work well...good bass response too!

hehehhehe

Yeah stick with the logitechs, just be mindful of your neighbors.

Those buttkickers would probably be more annoying because of the strong vibrations. I've tried them.

Thanks for the responses guys. I guess I'll just turn down the sub then -)

I think that I'll also get some headphones for night time gaming.

And btw, what are the offer requirements for house these days in the freebie industry? -P

Thanks a million guys.
