I mean, I know you get what you paid for, but how is this one?

I know there are different systems, with different capabilities, if somebody can go over what is what, that would be great for people have no clue

A 5.1 surround sound system is enough for any living room. Us humans only have 2 ears lol.

Just go with something that fits your budget. There are differences here and there between audio systems but most of the time, you can't hear the difference.

If you're looking for the 150-200$ range the Logitech Z-5500 (technically PC speakers) have been used by a fair amount of people as HT speakers. They're regularly $250 but have been discounted to around $180 multiple times in the last week on different sites.

They're 5.1, 505W RMS (1010W peak), and are supposedly great quality (I haven't heard them personally).

Just visit your local best buy, find the one that you find the most striking (in awesomeness in sound) and buy it.

But in my opinion, sometimes there are no differences between these systems.

Au contraire. There is a WORLD of difference when you know what you're listening to. Seriously, it can be like night & day difference, and especially comparing a low-end store-brand HTIB like the one the OP linked, to a high quality build-your-own.

Most HTIB's, especially those less than $300-$400 (and even most in that price range), are really not very good for a primary HT system. For a bedroom or other secondary room, sure. Obviously with folks who have a tin ear, or who can't afford better, then fine -- you make do with what you can. It's just that the OP describes a nice HD setup, including both flavors of HD media players, and the idea of hooking it up to junk like that makes me cringe. Less than $100 on a complete system means I can categorically state it will be rubbish, especially alongside his other components.

By true audiophile standards, my $1200 primary HT receiver (just the receiver, no speakers or anything else) is only "middle of the road." I'm not saying you have to spend anywhere near that to get a respectable sounding system, I'm just saying that you definitely DO get what you pay for (unless you buy Bose, but that's another discussion). I have a $300 Onkyo HTIB for the bedroom which does fine in there, but only about 10% of my movie watching experience is there so I'm fine with it. It can't hold a candle to my primary family room system, though.

And I second the Logitech recommendation if you're looking for a compact, dual-purpose speaker set. Of course just the speakers alone cost more than double what that entire Insignia HTIB costs. ;)

I'm willing to spend like $100 - $200, nothing higher haha

Um, thanks for the info guys, but I have a few questions

I'm going to go to Best Buy tomorrow and get it. But, I have some questions.

Can anybody ellaborate on
"The more the Watts the betters"?
"What does a reciever do"?
"Do I look for a Audio System with HDMi capability or Component or Neither?"

You know, the basic things that me and people want to know. I mean, I know the 5.1 system have 5 speakers, i know where to put the speakers

Simple and Easy Choice

BOSE

go to Sam's Club or something and buy it. If you buy it from the distributor you might get a good discount.
Good luck

When you buy something, you buy it at best quality. I own one for 4 years now and still works perfect. Great Sound and Power. I paid only 890 dollars for it from eBay

Totally. When you overpay for a BOSE, you're not paying for quality. You're paying for all the advertising they do to make you think they provide quality.

Bose is absolute crap for the money you spend. You can have a much better sounding system at much less money. Bose is marketed at folks who are suckers for slick marketing. lol Bose gets no respect at all from true audiophiles.
