Hey everyone,
I had a .mkvurl==http://=http:///url file and tried to convert it. It took me awhile to find a program, but I found one. So I converted to MP4, it plays in VLC, but not in quicktime. I get Error - 2002 a bad public movie atom was found in the movie. So I googled and found this.
http//wjarrettc.blogspot.com/2007/07/howto-fix-error-2002-bad-public-atom.html
So when I open the Tagger program I get
"An error occurred while opening "mymovie.mp4"
Nothing seems to work! Does anyone know what I can do to get it to work? Whether a better way to convert an MKV file or anything?
Thanks

.mkv files are from Matroska, which is a container, not a codec. You can also just play it directly from VLC (a very worthy download) like Guelah said.

You have to first split the audio/video (separate from container), then multiplex and convert from there. Take a look around the Matroska website.

visual hub will split the A/V then convert and put it back together for you, you should check it out
