I have the Nokia 6133.

[bdf4d88b5e8]1. Crack in screen.[/bdf4d88b5e8]

On the front screen that you see in image above, there's an internal crack going vertically down the center of the screen. You can't feel the crack. It's internal. The phone has never been dropped, never been hit by anything, I take care of it. A few months ago the crack just appeared when I took it out of my pocket. Again, it's internal, not external. Now, the phone is still under warranty for at least another 5 or 6 months. I've spoken to T-Mobile numerous times, and they've told me that "because there's physical damage, it voids the warranty." What the fuck is up with that? I didn't do a damn thing to the phone. That's like saying, "Oh, your phone voided itself." So, I don't know what to do, but I've spoken to at least three T-Mobile representatives. And I highly doubt if I contact Nokia that they'll do anything. If it's still under warranty, why can't I have this defective piece of crap ($300 phone) replaced?

2. Picture messaging.[/bdf4d88b5e8]

So I got just texting, and I was able to send a picture message. So I sent it, and the person received it. Now every time I go to send a picture message, as soon as I "insert" the image, my phone turns off and reboots itself. There's no way possible I can send a picture message. I can take pictures, I can receive pictures, I can send videos, recordings, text messages, just can't insert an image. Why is that?

Any help with both of these problems would be greatly appreciated.

Get a new phone/provider.

lcd screens are composed of glass plates, and glass does not crack on its own. Even if your phone shows no dents or dings, pressure is often the culprit of cracked screens. You said you had it in your pocket, if you lean against something too hard or someone bumped into you that could easily crack the screen.

^ It's an internal crack though. I don't understand. And it's under warranty, so I don't understand the bullshit they're giving me.

Internal cracks can happen from external pressure, in fact I'm sure that's what happened (unless your phone got gassy and bloated from the inside).

Like JOSHBOX said, it's almost certainly from sharp pressure being applied to the face of the display, causing it to flex inward. The rear plate cracked first.

First mistake was telling them about the crack =\ .
At this point all you can do is call back and try to convince them that theres nothing wrong with it except a software issue...
That "internal crack" is caused by pressure, which makes it "physical damage" which isn't covered under the warranty.

Pm/Aim me if you have more questions etc.

How do you "accidentally" go swimming with your phone?

Mark the calendar, I'm backing up FOAF on this. D

I almost ruined my phone once when taking a impromptu dip at Coney Island. I rolled up my khakis to get my feet wet and while looking at a jellyfish, a wave came in up to my pockets. Whoa. Phone was ok, but my Cruzer took a bath. Dried it out and it works as if new. )

Gotta love Sandisk.

I thought it was obvious. It's not putting gel in your hair.

Feel free to be 101...and 102, 103...really, there's just no reason to stop. ;)

If you had removed the battery immediately upon it getting wet, you could probably save it. However if you were wet for awhile without realizing it, then the phone is most likely fried. I've rescued a few submerged electronic devices -- including cell phones -- using the alcohol bath technique we were discussing in another thread recently.

Yeah, but I figured any attempt would fail because it was submerged in the water for more than 30 minutes.

Okay. So I have my phone back. Yay. Same one, got it for $50. Mommy spoke to manager and the guy felt bad, so we didn't have to change the contract or anything, he gave me the phone for $50. D

Anyways...I'm still having a problem with #2, wtf. I just tried to send myself a picture message via my new phone, and it won't work, it reboots itself. as soon as I insert the picture.

Nevermind, I fixed it. It's a problem with the phone. If I turn off "Delivery Report" for picture messages, it works fine. Strange.
