Hard Drive

So I decided it would be easier to just transfer all my movies onto a hard drive and plug it via USB straight to my X 360. Should I look solely for an external one? I once read an article in my local paper that suggested buying an internal one and casing by themselves and put it together yourself to save money. Also, what should I look for in terms of cache (whatever that does), brand, or type.

You will save money by doing it yourself. Take it from someone who didn't make his himself.
