I have a Toshiba Satellite 1905-S301 Laptop that needs a new harddrive. I just got one from Buy.com but it doesn't fit. Anyone know what drive I need or a good site that could tell me that?

Seems like it would take a standard 2.5 inch ATA laptop drive. What did you buy? A 3.5" drive?

i probably got an sata...its 2.5, but wrong plug. thanks for all your help. i'll get ya all karma

Back on black friday, Circuit City had an external 120GB 2.5" for like $60-$80 after rebates, or something like that. I though it might have been SATA internally, so I passed up hitting CC that day. Turns out is [ia5a5d5d97c]was[/ia5a5d5d97c] PATA, and it even sold for less. I'm still pissed...
I bring it up, because bare drives are expected to fetch a certain price and almost never go on sale (at least in b&m stores), but externals can go for less on sales, and are usually crackable for the drive.
Something to think about...

ok, before I make this mistake again. would someone mind checking this one and seeing if it'll fit. all these ata, sata things confuse me.

yea yours like it should work but i think price is kind of steep.
