everything elses sound works except for when i stick a dvd in and play it... no sound.
Sound works for everything else though.

have you tried reinstalling your DVD player program that you use? also set all the options to default cuase sometimes they get messed up or muted.

How many DVDs have you tried? Try changing the audio channel in the DVD player. Usually it's right click->Audio Channel->Audio 1, Audio 2, etc. Have DVDs had sound before?

Perhaps an audio codec is needed?
