Thanks for proving my wrong. I said looks, because the DVD tray looks unrealistic. Maybe its just against the black that makes it appear that way...

I was posting a link to a video that has several clear shots of the Elite and some additional information. The fact that I post after you doesn't mean I'm challenging you. roll

With the 360, you can't save music and videos to the hard drive that aren't signed by Microsoft correct?

I know sony lets you do this....

there is no point to making the elite version if there is no hd drive... all you have to do is paint your 360 black and buy the bigger hdd

I read in a few articles that there isn't and can't be a HD DVD drive, because the HD DVD drive spins much slower than a normal DVD drive, thus not allowing the games to load properly. This is why Sony decided to also make their game in Blu-Ray.

EDIT I forgot to add that, a lot of people are going to buy the Elite for the HDMI port. Makes a huge difference, especially to 1080P users. And, oh yea, the 120GB hardrive by itself cost $180 =/

i know bluray spins slower than dvd or hd-dvd. not sure about hd-dvd itself tho.
bluray is unique however in that it spins at a constant speed. dvds and others do not. so data at the front of the disc, with it having a smaller diameter, actually reads faster than dvd. data on the edges of the disc are slower.
the hdd is used of course to cache data and load things faster, and i think that's where MS botched the 360, in making one sku without an hdd and limiting the system (and threfore, multiplatform games like gta4). the makers of saints row for instance say dvd does not have enough speed to copy high-res textures and object data fast enough to have planes in their game. likely the same reason gta4 doesn't. if it were ps3-only it probably would, because it could use the hdd (

And of course the fact that blu-ray is made by Sony and they whole heartedly endorse it.

This is my first post, and it's about my first ever freebie. I'm kinda nervous

I just finished the things for bestrewardsaround.com who was promising a free XBOX360Elite and Halo3. Anyone know if bestrewardsaround.com is reputable?

Thanks in advance!

i think that's ideal. they're reputable, but not recommended for anything but very high-value items. otherwise you're spending more than you should. more offers. and check how many refs is required also.
