Well I have the Lg VX8600, the usb cable, and i dled the verizon v cast music things. I know how to use audacity and cut the songs that I want but I don't know how to add them to my phone and be able to use them as ringtones. If anyone knows how to do this or has a tutorial of some sort it would be greatly appreciated since most of the ringtones that came with it are stupid. Thanks. )

Get BitPim and read the how-to for your phone. http//www.bitpim.org/help/

BitPim is great, but if the phone uses a Qualcomm chipset, try QPST too. I like it better than BitPim.

I downloaded bitpim, but was unable to get it to find my phone. Maybe I was doing something wrong though. I'll try again tomorrow

Seconded. Search the forums there for your phone. BitPim is usually the standard USB->phone program, but I have to use the web browser in order to d/l ringtones/wallpaper, etc.

I did this with part of a song I clipped and sent it and set it as my ringtone, but it wasn't very loud, any way to make it louder. Also, will it cost me 10 cents for each text message?

Typically it is as loud as it can be when you upload stuff to your phone. ( My phone uses the external speakphone for the ringtone, but Sprint is the ghey. I dont have a text messaging plan either or Vision but its only pay per kb for me and I dont download songs that often. I need a new phone (sigh)

You can use Audacity to amplify the sound file before you send it to your phone.
