I want to buy a new router

Hey, can you guys help me pick out a wireless router? I will just be using it so I can use it with my PS3. Me PC from my PS3 is like 3 feet away. I heard Linksys is good, any recommendations? THX

Linksys is something I highly recommend. I personally use one, and have not had any problems with it.

You don't need a gigabit router to game on...at least not yet....Chances are you internet connection won't even touch 54 Mbps if you go wireless or the 100 mbps if you go wired.

I'd say get the linksys listed above. It doesn't cost that much more to have the wireless, and you can still go wired to your PS3 and desktop and you have the option of wireless if you ever need it later.

Go with the Linksys mentioned above in h3x's and moviemadnessman. I've had mine for about 2-3 years now.

Yea I bought a D-Link, but it didnt work or something, I had a hard time with it, so I guess ill buy the first one mentioned, thanx

Not quite.....the fon router is strictly wifi. There are no wired ports.

Will I be able to play ps3 with that free router?

If your ps3 has wifi...aka you have the 60 gb version.

When we played together, I was on Wifi. I never got lag, and that was when my router was in a different room. I'm also waiting for that free router for my dorm.

Linksys is a reliable brand.

If you just want a router that's cheap but reliable, get linksys.

If you want to actually change the firmware, look up "dd-wrt" for both their official site, and wikipedia articles.

just lurk around on fatwallet.com hot deals forums, there are cheap routers all the time there, even linksys, esp with the google check out coupon
