Im looking for a sound card and speakers to go with my new computer. I need at least 5.1 surround sound and price does not matter ( -p ) . I want it to run well with the new pc games that come out. Thanks!

Do you have this card? I was thinking of picking up a new audio card for my HTPC and I really like the optical output. I've had issues getting digital sounds out of the creative card I have right now and at this price, this card is hard to resist.

Are you using the digital output? Does it work well with your system?

Yes, I use it in my HTPC - optical output to my HK AVR-520. It's a beautiful thing.

Speaking of which, my Harmony 880 showed up last night. It's a beautiful thing.

Damn that's sexy. You're going to love the remote -- probably one of the best investments I've made.

I think I'm going to pick this card up tonight and sell the Augigy one I have in my system. Bet I break even.

Anyone have any recommendations on 5.1 speakers for a PC?

MicroCenter likley has the card, otherwise Newegg has it cheap, tax free and with 2-3 shipping.

I checked MC online last night and didnt see it -- was thinking that I could pick it up this weekend. I pulled the trigger at ChiefValue. Got it for $24.98 shipped to my door. I can't wait to use the optical output. The coax one I have running now is splashy and works when it wants to. I hope the card change makes a difference.
