Well my Dell InspironB130 is almost down and out. The motherboard needs replacing to fix the problem with it charging. And if I am going to do that - I might as well sell the one I have for a little cash and upgrade. I will post the specs of my laptop here when I get home, so someone could tell me about how much I would get for it.

What I want
Over 1Ghz Processing Power
Over 1 GB DDR Ram
A DVD Burner
The laptop may be refurbished, as long as it is in tip-top shape

Price Range (depending on my laptop)
$0 - $700

What I need it for
Graphic Creation
Everyday Use
Casual Gaming (not much)

And can anyone comment on this?

Doesn't look bad. What kind of games did you plan on playing?

Nothing new. I like to play like Age of Empires, though come to think of it I WOULD like to play the new Age of Empires game....

I have a Dell XPS M140 (the media center laptop that comes with the remote for movie/music)....

However, it comes with integrated graphics, probably not your cup of tea...

I'll let it go for a good price....

It's not bad, but for around the same money you could find similar to slightly better specs with a Core 2 Duo and Vista Home Premium.

A couple weeks ago I bought a Toshiba Satellite A135-S4467[=http//www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/pdet.to?seg=HHO&poid=360027&coid=-32796]Toshiba Satellite A135-S4467 at CircuitCity. Sale price was $949 (regular $999) with $100 MIR = $849. Almost identical specs to the Dell you spec'ed, except it was a Core 2 Duo T5200 and had Intel onboard graphics, which is great for Aero. I wouldn't do serious gaming with it, but neither would I with the laptop you spec'ed. I'd rather have the much better CPU than the vidcard on a laptop that isn't really spec'ed for gaming in the first place.

I've been a Dell user for many years, and have had several of their laptops. This is my first Toshiba, after hearing a lot of good reviews, and I'm quite impressed with it. I don't think I'd personally buy another Dell laptop.

The 1.6Ghz T5200 blows the doors off a 1.73Ghz T2250, and Vista Home Premium is a pretty significant upgrade over Home Basic. The HDD and RAM are the same, and the Toshiba's DVD-RW drive also supports DVD-RAM.

Well then, I may have to go with that laptop...is it light? (as in carrying weight)

It's lighter than my loaded Dell D810, which is a beast, but then again I'm not into the laptop weight thing. You tend to sacrifice power and features with low weight, but I think this Toshiba is a good compromise between the two.

That Toshiba you linked at BB is the A135-S4427, with the same Core Duo T2250 as the Dell you listed, i.e. it's not a Core 2 Duo either. Note that I have the [b7055689f8c]S4467[/b7055689f8c] which is a C2D T5200 + 160GB SATA HDD.

Now that's a much better Dell deal than the one TTGP posted earlier.

That's the same lappy that I bought this fall, except mine has a 160 gb hdd and 2gb of ram. I love the thing, and I don't game really other than some emulation, but I've had no problems with it.

What size screen are you looking to get? I have a 17"...but I wish I had something smaller like 15.4" or something. I think 17 is a little too big if I want to carry it around to school or something. This is I got it has a graduation present and my dad got the 17" because it would be good for movies and stuff. Hmmm I wonder how much a used laptop will go for on ebay...........checking. I don't want to offend my dad or anything though because it was a grad present. I wonder if he'd card.

Mine was a christmas present, but its almost completely useless-- so I do not think my mom will mind.

I do not carry my laptop, it goes from the floor to the bed and that is it. If you are looking to sell it, list some specs for me -)

I always recommend www.DellOutlet.com for any computer when you don't have specific parts or a build-it-yourself mentality. You can find some amazing deals there.
