So I finally got my new Video Card today since my last one crapped out and rendered my PC unusable.

I installed it and the PC booted up.....well it booted up more than it did with my old one. It now goes to the BIOSTAR screen, waits there for a minute or two and then gives me "Detecting Array..." message and doesn't go any further than that.

I can't even get into my BIOS to check if RAID is disabled or not, but I assume it is since I don't use it. MY HDD's spin up but my CD/DVD drives don't start.

I got a new MB and CPU today also, but is there a fix for this without installing the MB and CPU also? I plan on installing them,I just wanted to make sure this worked. shrug

[bc0e4fe3c05]EDIT[/bc0e4fe3c05] I unplugged my CD/DVD drives and it got past the Detecting Array message, now I'm getting "Error Loading OS".

Is it possible when my VC died it fried my OS too?

Should I just install my other MB and CPU and see how it goes?

I got it working.

I managed to get into my CMOS/Bios, noticed that none of my IDE drives were being detected but my SATA drive was, took out the IDE cable and it works. D

Now I'm gonna install my new MB, CPU, Raptor and Vista. D

+karma to everyone who helped.

kma+ for helping yourself ;).

Once I read that you couldn't get into your bios I didn't know what the problem would've been. What was preventing it from going to the bios before, the IDE drives?

lol, what kind of VC/CPU you just get?

Also, 10,000,019 posts? lol

I asked about that, too ... apparently the Admin gave him 10,000,000 posts when they reinstated his account. How sweet is that?

My own stupidity. I was trying all the buttonson the keyboardto try to get in but nothing worked, and then I remember about the DEL button. Once I was in, I realised what the story was. D

Also, the post count is thanks to Admin after my account was deleted a couple of days ago.

The Video Card I got was a Biostar 512MB 7600GS, MB was also Biostar and the CPU is AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ (Orleans). It will eventually be my wife's but I'm using it until I can save up for a Core 2 system. D

Grats on getting your system back up and running...will you get your KMA and TR back?

FUCK ME! evil

My RAM is DDR and I wasn't aware DDR RAM isn't compatible on a DDR2 MB. Fuck that then.

Damn that sucks. When you view the specs of a mobo, it tells you what type of RAM it needs. ;)

I know that. I knew there was a difference between DDR and DDR2 just not that the notch is in a different fucking place.

Shit. ?

You sure it doesn't work then? Maybe there's some setting in the BIOS?

I don't think the BIOS can manipulate hardware to actually change it's solid form. The notch on the RAM slots is in a different place than the RAM slots for a DDR MB, meaning it's not possible to use DDR RAM on a DDR2 MB since it won't fit.

Did you check the notch position setting?

I can't because I can't get into my BIOS. DUH! roll
