Itunes Tagging Preferences...

For artists that you only have a few songs for do you....

1) Put the actually album name it came from
2) Erase/Leave Blank
3) Put something such as Various, Singles, None, No Album, etc.


For me I use 3 because of the following

The first one I do not use because I like to have albums filled in only if I have the entire album. That way I can actually browse the album.

Number 2 seems a bit unorganized and its harder to tag those files that actually should have album titles. More of a personal preference however.

I use number 3 so I have a title in there for each song, keeping it organized, and I recently changed every album artist for my 'Singles' Album to include the tag 'Various Artists' so they all have the same album image.

I dont understand why this would be locked, other than the fact that you went off topic and didnt answer my legit question.

Why not enter the name of the album the song came from? Wouldn't anything else in there make it cluttered? I use ID3-TagIT btw, and all my mp3s are flawlessly tagged with front cover album art wink Lastly, you should get the whole album instead of downloading single tracks from lishudderli Limewire or lishudderli Bearshare -- that is unless you're legit and buy tracks from iTunes roll

Btw, the reason this might be locked is because there have been lots of mp3 tagging threads in the past.

The reason why I don't have the entire album is because....some songs just dont cut it but there are others that are decent to listen to. For example Ice Ice Baby. Who doesnt have that song? There may be a few 'decent' songs by Vanilla Ice. If I'm browsing Vanilla Ice on my ipod I would rather it list

Vanilla Ice>
Singles>Random Songs

Rather than

Vanilla Ice>
Album 1>Ice Ice Baby;
Album 2>Song 2;
Album 3>Song 3,Song 4;
Album 4>Song 5

This way you can play all the tracks without having to look at your ipod, press menu, and select constantly.
