I bought a domain really cheap on ebay and now i have it on godaddy.
I had my website ready and I was hosting it with my ISP. I just used the fowarding option on godaddy. So now, instead of having to write the long address from my ISP (http//pages.videotron.com/lililililililili/) I just write the domain that I bought and it forwards me to my website, but the long address from my ISP is still written, I don't see my new domain name up there. I'm kinda lost, is there something I can do with FTP expert or Godaddy, or whatever.. ? I want my website to use the domain that I bought and I don't want the domain to just forward me to my old website with my old address.

normally I would ask my dad for that kind of stuff but he's gone for 2 weeks.
and yea, it's normal that you don't understand everything I write, that's cuz i'm french.

Thank you

In godaddy where you set up your forwarding (Domains->my domain names, then click on the domain name and go to forward) you will see a tab for Masking. Check Mask Domain and set the Masked Title to the domain name that you want to appear in the location bar of your browser.

Wow, I didn't know you could do that. I wonder if it keeps the masked domain address for every page of the forwarded website.

I'm pretty sure it works, I used to use if when I hosted my site at my home, before I got Dreamhost (good hosting, btw).

Keep in mind that masking often uses frames to hide the forward, which may or may not cause problems with certain sites and browsers.

Thanks for the help, but I have small question ;)

On google, I indexed my old address even if it's masked, because I couldn't index my new domain name.
to get a better page rank on google will I have to get backlinks to my new domain name or my old website address?

they both end up to the same website..
