hey,
i was wondering if anyone out there has or is using windowsblinds to customize there system. I have windows XP pro and my specs are
128 mb nvidia geforce 4
2.1 Gh AMD processor
1 Gb of ram

I dont know what to do to get it to work at normal speed. My system passes all the system requirements for it but when ever i try to do use the program my system slows down to the point where i cant do anything adn my CPU is constantly runing at 100%...anyone know why?
thanks

That's WindowBlinds for ya. I got rid of it because it hogs too many resources and it attempts to skin everything. Sometimes skinned applications don't work either. When I tried running Photoshop at the time, it ran, but I couldn't click the buttons unless I killed WindowBlinds.

My system runs much smoother without it. Unless you REALLY want a skin, and it's not being skinned directly from Windows, don't use it.

That's just my opinion.

are there any alternatives out there to windows blind? I am just extremely sick of the blue, silver and olive green basics of xp....I just need vista so i can get black;)

Yes, they're both freeware and I've already linked you to them lol but I'll repost it for anyone who might have missed it and would also like it.

Litestep[=http//www.litestep.net]Litestep - Freeware -- Linux style shell for Windows
SharpE(Environment)[=http//www.sharpe-shell.org/news.php]SharpE(Environment) - Freeware -- I can't describe it... its just cool

There are many sites where you can find Litestep skins(a quick google search will turn up alot), but I've found Litestep.net to be very useful for a kind of all in one place for Litestep skins and related downloads.

Another good site for litestep skins is www.wincustomize.net[]www.wincustomize.net

SharpE skins, to my knowledge, can only be found on their own site, but you can try your luck on the internet.

I've been using WB fr a while now and it's never slowed my system down. I don't have a great PC. shrug

WB is definitely a hog. There are much better solutions out there, both cheap and free

Hmm... I've been using WindowBlinds with the Noire theme since I got my computer August 2005 and I haven't really noticed it being that slow. Only running a gig of memory too. liShrugsli Might look into some of those other themes if it really Does hog...
