Hey guys,
If you could pick the next YGF promotion, what would you want it to be? Besides a raffle like the nScript ones. We want YOU to pick our next promotion! Whoever picks it we will give a free green to. You can make it as big as you want, and we will consider it!
TFOAF
16-09-2006 14:50:59
The promotion is $1000 given to a charity of the users choice, and it is listed as a donation from the user. D
I think that'd be helpful to everyone, plus it makes you feel good inside that you're helping people who have nothing like this. And an addition to the promotion would be a person's referral link for ALL of their YGF sites would be shown on the main page for ONE month. D
What ya think? D

That's a good idea. Maybe you could have a choice between your ref link idea, and getting a free ref on all the sites...

How would we raise the money?
Also still open to more D

I was loving the raffles, eventhough I didn't participate in them. Maybe you could do some smaller 5 person raffles. Those five people could sign up for the site unreferred, but also need 1 referral. This would make the payout bigger and with only 5 people, more of an incentive to participate.

Burritopunks may work. Remember you guys an make the WHOLE THING! Pick the prizes etc. Just a reminder It doesnt have to be a raffle also, it can be anything. As big as 50 plasmas to as little as 25 dollars.

Ideas for prizes could go anywhere from a cruise, football tickets, a free year of cable, etc.
I'm having a hard time thinking out of the spectrum of ideas other than raffling.

I say no matter if you were referred or not, you have to do an extra offers and you have to refer at least 3 people who must complete one offer. It can be as large as you want, to pay for a A TV W/ A console, or as small as 5 and do a couple hundred bucks.
Just me though -)
Have a poker tourney or another kind of card game. Each person sighs up to the site and completes a offer, then you hold a poker tourney for some gift or cash. Or maybe a tourney for a game on xbox live.
If you do a big prize, could so something like a bunch of stuff for a game room, I'd love to win a pool table, Tv, ping pong, or a air hockey table or something along those lines. Maybe someone can add to one of these ideas or something

Problem is there's a cheat for the Xbox Live poker where you disconnect the connection when you're losing a hand in the showdown so when you reconnect the system gives you a "sympathetic" win.
I nominate PokerRoom or PartyPoker (though I have an account at PokerRoom).
How about where the offer IS the poker offer, and then the money they deposit is used for the poker tournament?

Here's an idea.
Whenever someone signs up for a YGF site, unreferred, they have a 1/3 chance of winning a prize.
You can use whatever ratio you'd want, and the amount of prize, but this way, everyone has a chance to win. And, the offer one completes will determine the amount of the prize, obviously.
Killer722
16-09-2006 20:19:13

16-09-2006 21:07:08
It should not be something that requires real-time participation (like an online game). It should be something that plays off of skill and wit, rather than dumb luck.
A caption contest, perhaps? Something of the sort.
As for the gift, a new iPod shuffle would be cheap but totally awesome. A caption contest for an iPod shuffle (hell, a caption contest in which we need to come up with a slogan for the new Shuffle) is the ideal contest for me.
YourGiftsFree
16-09-2006 21:07:57
Something like my old riddle promo?
ilanbg
16-09-2006 21:13:32
The only thing I didn't like about that (if I'm remembering the right contest) was that it had only one answer. In a caption contest it is subjective.
Hell, you could have the submissions privately PMed and then post a poll and let [i57ddb5f3c5]us[/i57ddb5f3c5] vote on which caption (posted anonymously) is the best.
Also, I think multiple promotions for lesser end items is better than one or fewer promotions for larger promotions. (To a degree, of course.)

I like this idea. Have five people already signed up on a YGF site do an extra full credit along with four others and turn it into a raffle for $200..alot of people have already signed up on most YGF sites. Besides, there is a quite nice selection of offers so i'm sure you can hold atleast two of these raffles and get ten people easily.

the never ending promo.
like toebash said but make an announcement one day that the next person to sign up unreferred gets $50 or somethintg, then every second person wins $50 too. And never stop. Make it like a feature. Just signing up offers a 50% chance of free cash.

Personal opinion, but I think you should come up with a different way to setup a promotion other than a raffle. To me a raffle isn't very appealing (from the standpoint of wanting to participate in the promotion). I'll be thinking of a different way.

you should pick like, 5-10 offers and secretly label them as "Winning" Offers, and like, every person to complete one of these offers get's like a 360, 80gb ipod, or paypal alternative? It'd be especially profitable on the diy site IMO

What about seeing how many referrals a user can get just by advertising YGF and at the end of like 2 weeks see who the top 5 referrers were and have a draw between them or something.
Or maybe just a simple thing like, anyone who signs up and does an offer on a ygf site between so and so dates gets entered for a chance to win the new shuffle or like $200 or something plus users are only allowed to enter once. And the money could be raised by making a special "entry" offer to do that gives a few dollars to ygf for the raffle thingy.
I dunno. Poker sounds good too.
