Personally, I use Trainn's site as well as Slickdeals Sub-Forum for BlackFriday.

I feel that the value of the deals depreciate every year though...but that's just my opinion.

I look at one site, i dont find any point at looking at them all.. They all have the same thing lol

IDK, I got an MX Revolution mouse as a gift last year for $100, now it's half that. That Jabra BT headset and 500GB external HDD also look pretty juicy.

for someone that wants to buy a plasma $800 for the 42" HD 720 Panasonic is a pretty good deal.

edit for someone that wants a TV - is the strategy to go at 3am and wait in line, or buy early and PM, or show up at 10am and buy it, since TVs are big and expensive and most people don't buy them (or some other strategy).

Lol nice strategies.
Last year my brother and I camped out for that $300 laptop at BestBuy. We got there right around midnight and were probably somewhere between 50 and 75th in line.
By the end of it we managed to get the tickets for the $400 pc. The laptop tickets were all given out to the first 15 or so in line.
I'm trying to see who will have an awesome deal this year though...Who do you guys feel has the best deal so far?

I actually really like blackfriday.info, with it's ability to sort by category - so, for example I can view only hard drives on sale. Pretty well done website.

yeah bfads.net sorts by category too but not that specific - I think it's computer components and you have to be in the actual ad listing to do it. But you can also use the search box to search for items you want and it lists each store.

samz465

14-11-2007 13:27:48

I personally would rather sort through the physical papers and circle anything I see appealing. Then go through them a second time to see if I missed anything.
However, the categories are very good if you're looking for something specific.

Aw thats cute.
I'd pick one up for you Jkirk (and a bluetooth =P) but I don't know if I'm going near one this year.

I haven't gotten to get a full look at the ads this year, but I heard BestBuy has another laptop that's a good price so I might be aiming for that.

I'm also going to be looking for some fairly cheap computers (2) for my brothers new cell phone store.

So far, where are the best deals at?

I'm camping out at bestbuy. I want to get the Toshiba for $229 and they have a Western Digital 500GB Mybook external hdd...i think thats the one for $99. Looking forward to my first camp out. Any tips? oh and I'm thinking of maybe getting the TomTom GPS they have.

I went to BestBuy today to check out what was going to happen on BF. I planned out where all the stuff is that I need to get, so hopefully I'll run to one spot and my friends will get the others...and what's the deal on selling tickets? Can we do that?

Thanks for the help =)

Just a word of advice they often move items for BF ads especially if they have pallets of stuff to sit out.

After two years at Best Buy, I never understood why some people would camp for 12+ hours in the cold just to save a few hundred bucks. Personally my time and energy is more valuable than the discounts they offer on black friday because most of the time you could wait for a regular slick deal on the item you want and pay just a little bit more, without freezing for 12 hours.

This is my first campout, so I really don't know how it is. If I don't like it this year, I probably won't campout next year. I just want to see how it is. =). And I could definitely use the discounts they have. =) hehe.

People start lining up in line at like 500pm tonight (thanksgiving) and they wait, and wait, and wait, and then around 300am BB employee's come out and hand like the first 20 people in line tickets for the sale items.

Last year I camped out with my brother at BestBuy around 10 PM.
We almost didn't go, but he wanted that laptop...Of course we were too far back to get the laptop anyway.
We were able to get those $400 computers and a couple other deals though.

I must say, last year everything sucked, but somehow we had a lot of fun. Like the weather was really crappy. It rained rained rained, and it was windy and cold. We only had one umbrella.

We were really unprepared, so every hour or so we would alternate between going into the car and blasting the heat.
This year I don't think it's raining though, so it won't be as bad. In the middle of the night, my brother left and went to get Dunkin Donuts, so that helped us stay warm too.

Just go fairly early, wear some warm clothes, and go with people you'll have fun with so you don't go bored out of you mind. Also, try to make friends with the people who are in front/ behind you in line. That definitely helps too.
This year we're also bringing a few extra friends, some chairs, and something to entertain us as well. Just remember to stay warm.

So I just checked out two bestbuys in the area, and they both have lines already started. I went to one circuit city, and there was nobody there. I'm gonna eat quickly and then head back out to bestbuy and see if I'm one of the first 15 in line.

23-11-2007 20:18:25

So I woke up a few hours ago after camping out all night yesterday.
My brother, my cousin, and two friends split up between BestBuy and Circuit City at around 730. We all went back and forth between the two spots switching things up and taking breaks etc. We also had my father and my friends parents helping us here and there.

We ended up getting the following
The two acer desktops from Circuit City for $239 AR.
One however was sold to someone by accident or something, so after waiting 2 hours for a manager we finally got a written voucher to pick the second one up in the next few days.
We got one laptop from Circuit City for $300 AR.
We 3 bought vouchers from people with extras at BestBuy for $40 each for the $199 eMachines, the $400 Sony Laptop, and the $230 Toshiba.

Also, my friends dad waited till 9 AM for when the tickets finish and you can buy ticketed items for first come first serve. He got really lucky and the rep told him they'd order the Sony Laptop for him and ship it to his address. He got really lucky his dad waited.

Anyway, that was my adventure. It was fun, but a little hectic, and a little cold.
