Vizio is a decent looking budget brand, and I was initially recommending them just based upon image quality I saw on display. But I've heard they have serious build quality & reliability problems. Lots of complaints in the various AV forums. I certainly would never recommend one over a Samsung or Panasonic, which are the top tier flat panel manufacturers. I would rate lisomeli Sony's very high, but not all (their SXRD line is awesome, though).

Dmorris is COMPLETELY right... NEVER, I mean NEVER, sell a Samsung to get a Phillips! That's crazy.
And in terms of Vizio, I just bought the VX37L Vizio LCD for the workout room, and even though it doesn't even compare to Samsung, Sharp or Sony, for the price, you can't beat it! I bought it from Costco too, who have a 90 day return-policy (no restocking fee) and a 2 year, base warranty that comes on all their TVs at no additional cost. So, $720.00 for a 37" LCD and $99 for the Tilt Mount, and I feel like it was a steal.

I called them up and the rep told me that it's covered if it gets damaged too, but it's a very long process to get your check.
