Radar Detector

Hey guys I am looking for a radar detector, anyone know where i can get a good deal on a cobra or something?

if i get a cobra id like the more advanced models since i know all cobras suck but i dont have the money for a valentine 1 or anything

Seriously, getting my radar detector was one of the best idea's I ever had. I bought one from Walmart for like $30. It was a cheap-o shitty cobra, but it did let me know when a cop was in the area. I ended up selling it to my friend for $20, but if you want to know the truth, I ended up stealing a better one from Walmart about 2 weeks after I sold my first one. It was a really kickass cobra one. It retailed for like $160..

which model cobra should i be looking for, which model cobra do you have that is $160?

i had a mid level cobra for the longest time then i took it out and got a ticket ( now i want another one.

Just spend the extra money and get a Valentine 1.

I bought the one off woot for 50 when it retailed for 200. Even if it catches ONE cop, it will be money well spent.

First off, you aren't even old enough to drive.

Second, you go ahead and go the speed limit and let me know how that works for you with people tailgating you.

Yea, in NYC you barley drive. If you do decide to take your car out, your not speeding anywhere. Half the time your stuck at a traffic light making your way down the road. Jersey is where its rough, try driving 65mph on Rt.80 and see what happens...

if i want to drive the speedlimit ill drive my moms daewoo, besides, i only need it when im at the streets, i drive the speed limit when i commute

Don't invest in it if you're going to be doing minimum driving then. Cheap stuff for radar detectors is as good as no stuff.

I got my cobra for $50 off of woot like a year ago....It's the Cobra XRS9500....You can get it for under $80 pretty much anywhere. Works good if you ask me....

Absolutely no reason to buy a new V1. Buy a used one off eBay. Last I checked they were on 1.8 software - which you can check by plugging in the serial number at http//valentine1.com/upgrades/

I paid ~$185 for a 1.7 when I bought mine - the upgrade site actually suggests not upgrading if you have a 1.7, as it's not cost effective for the improvement in detection.
