Yeah, as long as you're one of the first, you'll probably just get the case regardless of academic affiliation.

I saw this listed awhile ago but I believe you won't get any which is why I didn't include it on my freebie list
the quantities are limited and it's been on forums with thousands of people for several days. The limited-number freebies (especially things as significant as this) are always gone as soon as they hit the freebie forums (and I don't mean this forum, but dealcatcher and others)
