Don't know if this is threadcrapping, but can anyone else tell me how high I should go with this?
Again if threadpooping disregard this post all together. P

You wouldn't need it, this model includes built-in WiFi. But yes, it should have at least one PC-Card slot AFAIK. At least the D810 I have does.

So are you saying that it has an internal mini-PCI card in it and if so would I need to remove that in order to use my PCMCIA card (that has antenna for better signal)

Yes, it has an internal WiFi mini-PCI card. If you absolutely must have the PC-Card, then you can disable the built-in WiFi through the BIOS. And BTW I just pulled up the specs on the D600, and confirmed that it does have one Type I/II PC-Card slot.
I'm curious as to why you need a PC-Card NIC for better signal? While older Dell laptops, like the Precision Workstation M50 I used to have, had lousy wireless coverage with the built-in stuff, these newer D series are much much better. I get great coverage from the built-in WiFi just about everywhere on my D810. I doubt you'd need the external antenna, unless you're operating in a fringe area, or war-driving. ;)

Damn, I'd go for it, but the video card is below my standards P but at 300 right now, I'll keep an eye on it.

Can you explain the BIOS to me, sorry I'm a little new to this stuff.

Yah that is a big factor in me selling it. I wanted to find a laptop that could support the new Vista Aero when I upgrade to that. Also wanted a smaller laptop for when I go to college next fall. I ended up getting a refurbished Dell XPS M1210 with the built in web camera. I say that I will take it with me to classes and record the lectures but that probably wont happen

It comes out on January 30th for consumers. It was released about 7 weeks ago for businesses. I got in on the free copy of Vista Business for powertogether.com and that is supposed to be coming within the next couple of weeks.

I was actually looking over my VAIO last night for a good spot to mod in a RP-SMA jack. )
Sadly, no dice, and I wouldn't want to void the warranty. Modding a PCMCIA card is much easier. Not saying that's what mcw841 wants, but it's a valid reason for wanting that slot.
