If you sign up for MyNintendo (www.nintendo.com) and register your Wii, you'll get a free 90-day warranty extension. You can opt-out of all of their email (as is the default when you sign up).

With luck, none of us will need it but you never know and Nintendo is treating their MyNintendo customers well. This poor guy had two broken Wii and they sent him quite the consolation package (extra controllers, games and a component cable) http//www.1up.com/do/my1Up?publicUserId=5761172.

Also if you register three Nintendo products (e.g., Wii, Zelda, Excite Truck) you'll get 3 free issues of Nintendo Power and can then get a years subscription for $12 when that runs out.

Finally, in a bit of slightly related news component cables are now shipping from store.nintendo.com.

First (topic) post, so have some mercy... -)

Being a MyNintendo member for 3 years (my first registered game is Mario Party 5), I've known about the Nintendo Power deal (in fact, I've gotten it XD)...

But it's nice to see that this has been posted.

If you look inside the box your Wii was packaged in, there's a little slip that tells you about the 90 day warranty extension. P
