I don't get it, why buy someone a gift certificate with another one? Why not just sell the supercert?

I'll buyout today for $160

I would guess because on ebay Amazon certs go for almost full price. It's actually quite weird, people buy Amazon certs on ebay and only save 30-50 cents.

So instead of losing 40 bucks to your offer he will get at least 190 probably more.

I'll never understand why someone would bid on something for full price. Anything within 5 dollars of the actual price is considered full price by me. It boggles my mind.

I'll buyout $170 today.
The difference is he will have to wait like 5 days for the auction to end to get maybe ~190 bucks but he can get 170 from me now.

but isn't 5 days of not having 170$ worth the extra 20.

185 and we got a deal.

that went pretty quick.

The guy had 0 feedback, and he seemed pretty shady. So to avoid paypal putting me on hold/him doing a chargeback. I went to the ATM down the street, and took most of what remained in my paypal account.

If he does a chargeback that won't help you... you should have deleted his bid.

he didn't even bid, he bought it now, and then he paid quickly through paypal.

And since i forgot to specify no 0 FB bidders or buyers. It would have just created a big mess.

Everything is done legitly.

He paid. I sent him the certificates. I emptied out my paypal. And if he wants a chargeback, then HE has to deal w/ paypal, and since theres nothing in my account, paypal can't take it out on me.

Hopefully your paypal isn't verified or else they will take the money out off it.

I think you have to be verified to be a seller?

amir89630

16-10-2006 21:35:43

i am verified.

But if (worst case scenario) the guy files a dispute w/ his CC company and gets his CC refunded. Then paypal tries to take the money away from me, but they will fail becuase there is no money in my account for them to take away from.

I wouldn't be worried if the guy was confirmed or w/e and i was elligble for seller protection, but since this guy is unconfirmed, I'm not taking any risks.

Paypal can still put your account in the red (it's happened to me). They won't let you use your account until you bring it back into the black through bank transfer(s). It sucks.

It has come to our attention that you may be the recipient of potentially unauthorized funds. We have initiated an investigation into this event. In the meantime, we have placed a temporary hold on the funds in question until the investigation is complete. This temporary hold will show as a deduction in your available balance. In the meantime, you are free to continue transacting using your PayPal account.

Good thing there was only 10$ in my paypal account.

PAYPAL WILL TAKE THE MONEY OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT AND PUT IT IN NEGATIVE.

What don't you understand about that?

Yeah I bought all iTunes certs with my SC and probably lost 50-60 on the deal, i was in a hurry for quick cash though so I didn't really care

Good idea though, and good luck.
