I saw this at hot-deals.org and thought it was a good deal. 300GB HDD for $57

A Seagate 300GB IDE Drive with 5 year warranty for $75 with free shipping. According to Seagate's rebate list, a $18 mail-in rebate is available. That would be $57 total price after rebate, or $0.19 per GB, one of the best deals we've ever seen on a IDE (Parallel ATA) hard drive.

The Seagate rebate form has been active for a few months, but it is limited to one rebate per household. So, if you previously sent in the Seagate rebate for one drive, you cannot send it in again for another drive, even if your purchases were months apart.

There will probably be a better deal on Black Friday. It might go for $30 after MIR then.

I'm not a Seagate fan, but if I were in the market for one I think I'd rather pay $75 shipped than $30 after MIR and have to deal with Black Friday. )

I usually lock myself indoors on Black Friday -- can't stand to go anywhere near a store...

It's funny how things change when money is tight. )

Seriously, the guilt of knocking over a few grannies for a deal is worth it. It's washing the blood of your clothes that can be a chore.

Bring a baseball bat. ;)
