Hey everyone, I found this while surfing the web.

http//ultimatecinema.com/

It seems to be a lens of some sort that you fix onto your TV and then it projects it on to the wall. Seems iffy to me, take a look.

These have been around forever. I remember when I first got on ebay (1999) there were hundreds of auctions with directions on how to do it.

First off, you have to have your television flipped upside down. Next, you have to build a little box around the TV out of cardboard. Then you have to let this huge honking TV / cardboard contraption sit on the floor, and project a very dim image onto a wall (it has to be VERY dark or it is hardly noticable). It's more trouble than what its worth (It's too bulky, and the image isnt all that great) If you search Google, you can find free directions on how to make your own projector for less than $5.

Wouldn't it be easier to just use two projectors to allow the t.v. to sit right-side-up?

A cool thing some guy did was to take apart a 15" lcd flat panel monitor and put it on an overhead projector. So the projector served as the backlight and was bright enough to project onto a wall. For a homemade project, it worked pretty well.

A TV doesn't put out enough light to go through the lens and make a decent image on a wall. Don't waste your money.

That's the same thing energydrinks4free posted. But with a 110% refund what do you have to lose? You should get it and tell us how it works.

Are you kidding? If I were trying to raise my count I would be posting much more. And I want a 1st hand account on this thing, if it doesn't work well at all why would they offer a refund? ?

Haha, take it easy.

Someone said it was just a piece of plastic and left the guy a negative. I don't think I'd bother with this though...

Yeah, me neither. Sorry I got a little offensive, TryinToGetPaid keeps telling me stuff like that only he isn't kidding. I'm not sure why, but he suddenly despises me shrug

Ha. Sorry to hurt your feelings kid. I do not despise you or anyone on this forum, it would be a waste of time in my life to despise someone on an internet forum. Furthermore, I just thought it was stupid to make a post about you having 1337 posts. I mean you could have made a post, but included something of importance, not just a post about you having 1337 posts.

if you'll notice in the pictures on that auction, there is a projector on the celing... this thing will not be good quality at all, deff not to make it 200"... think about stretching a picture on your computer to 10 times the size, and see the quality of it... that is what you will get with this "projector"

What you get is a little piece of plastic (a lens) and either printed / emailed directions on constructing a box and using the lens.

Here I'll give you all the materials you need for free. Go get a magnifying glass from your desk. Unscrew, and take out the lens. You'll also need a cardboard box, a TV, and a couple hours to waste (more materials listed on website below)

Goto http//www.i-hacked.com/content/view/47/90/ and follow the directions.

Boom, I saved you $5. And a lot of sellers don't honor the 110% refund, unless you mail back the lens and stuff. They figure you aren't going to waste your time and mail the lens back to get your $3. The 110% refund is just a cheap marketing trick to lure people to buy their product. As you can see, it worked.

I attempted to make one, looked almost semi-professional, but something happened to it and it ended up not working.
