It's a decent price, but flat panel prices are falling steadily and I've seen 32" LCD's for less than that for a few months now.

LG makes some good stuff, so it's probably fine. I have no firsthand experience with that model nor with its reviews, so do your research first. I think flat-panel LCD's at 37" and smaller look pretty good, but for larger screens I prefer a rear-projection SXRD/LCoS or DLP.

As with any major TV purchase, I strongly suggest you find one in a store somewhere and look at it with your own eyes before buying.

For a brand name LCD at a retail store it's a great price, but I agree with you on needing to check it out first. Though I think I'll stick to my original plan of getting a Samsung LN-S3241D off amazon for a couple hundred more.

You are also right on with the DLP comment, but in a college dorm room space is important. D
