upgrading. getting rid of (would prefer whole, but make an offer on parts, if you want)

Tyan s2460 w/ dual proc AMD MP 2000's.
2 GB Ram
GeForce Ti 4600
Sony +/- R/RW DVD burner (single layer)
40x CD burner
Soundblaster Live Platinum (hey, it's still better than most!)
Antec 550W power supply (+extra Antec truPower 430)
Antec SOHO tower case

I'm taking the 1.2 TB of HD out of the machine, but if you're insistant, I may be able to dig up a 160 gig for you.

I built the machine to do vid editing, and as a dual proc, it's very fast at what it does. I've been using this as my primary machine, and it runs everything fine. I just wanted a bit more oomph for my graphics.

offers for the full machine get priority, but go ahead and PM me offers for any parts, too.

What kind is the RAM?

tmberwolff

Registered ECC PC2100. really only good for dual processor machines.

don't have any pics at the moment. they'd be kinda boring, anyway, since it's just a black case )

I honestly don't know what brand ram it has in it. as long as it is functional, I don't tend to be very brand loyal. I'd pull it out, but this machine is still running as my main machine until my new one gets here later this week...

and yes, 1.2 TB... just in this machine... 300 gb x 4. Plus another 800 gig in my other machine, plus another 540 gig as a cold storage backup. but that has nothing to do with the computer at hand... sorry )

Bingo doesn't take up that much space, Tholek.

Maybe 0.9 TB but not 1.2 TB. roll

Registered ECC buffered ram? Brands matter to a degree you really need to show the CAS lats too.

"Damn on the storage...What can you possibly use it all for accept for porn and pirated movies...?"

If you notice he said the computer is made for video editing. 2 hours of raw video takes about 70 gigs of harddrive space so if you have a bunch of projects going you can use up a terabyte easy

Wow..spanx....video editing suckx. I;m poor, lol...no TB hdd's for me..

Then again, even if it was just for dvd rips...4.5GB ones, it wouldn't take too much to fill all that....I filled my 160gb external and my 40gb internal...then finally burned a few dvd's and removed them....so I got about 15 gigs left now, lol.

exactly. ) (I'd say Bingo, but that's already been covered). and actually, it really only would take 1-2 good projects. 6 hours li 4 cameras = 840 gigs = 1 wedding/reception. Not that I'm editing weddings, but I'm just saying.

Again, the RAM is off-brand. I think it's low end Crucial. It's functional, and that's really all I know? My computer gets here tomorrow or the next day. I'll be tearing this system down then, if you want me to post the brand?

How old and what brands are the HDD's?

Would any video editing software be included? How much are you looking for?

tmberwolff

06-07-2006 07:24:49

HDs The 300s are all Seagate, the 200s are all Maxtors, and the 160 I could include is a Western Digital. The 300s are about 3 months old, and the Maxtors are about 1-1.5 years old.

Unfortunately, I can't include any of the software. All licensed software I have is registered to me, and generally expensive ) I can use it on my new machine when it gets here (today, hopefully).

As for how much I'm looking for? Well... The power supply is about a month old, and was $100. The case is solid, and still sells (new) for $100. The board/proc/ram combo sells on ebay for various amounts between $100-$200. All that is to say that I have no idea. I would like to see enough money out of it to make it worth selling it rather than keeping it around for parts. make me an offer?

How much for the 160 gb HD? A brand new 300gb HD on outpost.com is 74.99$, How much is the 160gb HD Shipped? I'm interested. I do a lot of video editing myself and need the room ;p

tmberwolff

06-07-2006 10:59:04

the 160 was an incentive to sell the computer as a whole. as far an individual harddrive, I suggest you buy the one you have mentioned. I searched outpost, and could not find the drive you're referring, to, but they did have a hitachi 160 for $39. I'd pay extra for a seagate drive (and their 5 year warranty), but that's just me.

how much do you want for it? I don't like making offers on things I have no clue of their value, make an offer and i'm sure people will let me know if it is a good deal or not...

ChaSongjo

I think it's worth roughly around $750, but it's used, so maybe lower.

[quote94035546db="ChaSongjo"]I think it's worth roughly around $750, but it's used, so maybe lower.[/quote94035546db]

considering the price I just paid for my new machine, I think $750 might be too high. The reason I didn't list a price is because I'm not too sure what it IS worth, ya know? ) I guess if I had to put a price tag on it, i'd say somewhere in the 4-500 range?

I got my new computer in yesterday, though, so if I don't hear a good offer by this weekend, I'm gonna part it out on ebay...
