How much can I get for this? And I'm taking offers.
I'm not looking for retaiil price, just a generous fair offer.
Hmmm... Judging by your post I'd say it's worth $2300...

Regardless of what he might have said, I'd assume he doesn't want you to sell it. Many older men begin to give valuables to younger male relatives (sons, grandsons) when they start thinking about death. I don't have any literature on it right here, but I'm sure you can Google for some information. More than likely he would like you to keep it as something to remember him by...
My grandfather gave me his Remington 1100 20ga. shotgun (I believe this is the model, though my father took it with him to Florida in our gun cabinet, and hasn't brought it back to me yet so I can't double check) before he died...it's not worth a whole lot (between $700-$1,000 last I knew), but the value to me is knowing that he wanted me to have it. I will NEVER sell it. I suggest you keep the watch.

I wouldn't sell it although I wouldn't wear it either. It depends on whether your grandpa bought it for you just for the heck of it or for a holiday or if he handed it down to you.

I agree with that statement. I would just hold onto it, to make it look like you love it. You don't wanna let your grandpa down.

After my grandmother died, the women of the family gathered to look through her extensive jewelry collection to pick something to keep. Since my branch of the family lived near by we visited them quite often and I have borrowed a necklace/bracelet set over the years for proms. Since I knew exactly what it was stored in and was able to find it first, I got to keep it. This diamond tennis braclet/ matching necklace is set in gold must be worth [iaa286ec317]thousands[/iaa286ec317]. And I'm talking thousands here. We don't even want to have it appraised because my hubby would have a heart attack lol. So far, he's been great about understanding the want to not sell them, even to possibly raise $$$$ for our businesses. But a man can only take so much LOL

Well, look at in a buyer's prespective. He thinks that your item is just as legit as the next person's, unless you start your bidding at around $2k

This is why I insist that my older relatives bequeath nothing but consumer electronics to me. It would be too complicated receiving valuable items of no use or interest to me.
