im not sure if those thermacare things are really a novelty... they are amazing! i have used them on my neck/shoulder and wrist. a few years ago, i had a really bad arthritis type problem (mind you, i am 20, and apparently my body is screwed up) and i would wake up in the morning completely unable to move my wrist because of the incredible pain.... i would wrap one of those around it just loose enough as to not cut of circulation, and it was absolutely wonderful. lasted just about the entire working day.
they get pretty warm. i would imagine they would be nice for holding in your hands on a cold day... especially if you are an idiot like me who will wait 12+ hours outside for concerts 8)
